Remember when playing a song to play the chords on your left hand and notes on your right. Please show your support by a comment, rate, or subscribing.

Hello and welcome here at Smart Piano Lessons.com. My name is Nate and I will prove you that playing piano is not more difficult than driving a car.

==============================================================

TODAYS LESSON:

In this lesson we want to look at how you can find the piano lessons for beginners.

So this is NOT about piano music theory like „how to read piano notes“ or „how to play piano chords“, but rather to find a good course in the first place. Our focus will be on adult piano lessons. This means that this video is for adults who do not have a lot of time and want to learn piano fast.

We will look at different online beginner piano courses and keyboard teaching in general in order to find out what school suits you and you lifestyle best.

We will measure 2 criteria:

1. Input – How much time do I have to sacrifice?
2. Output – What am I getting out of this?

In this video, our three focus points are: Broken Chords (taking the triad and playing the individual notes), Staccato and Legato articulations (S: playing one note after the other without blending it with the next/L: blending the notes together) and Rhythm in Practice (using the above to invent your own practice routines and free your fingers, discover your own style and develop keyboard awareness).

Note: What you must acknowledge is that 10 videos does not mean it takes 10 hours, or 10 days, even 10 weeks! It will take as long as it takes for you to consider that you have reached an acceptable level; this may involve going to take exams, making recordings of pieces or your own compositions and getting feedback, or visiting a real-life teacher for refinement. Please bare this in mind during the 10 video course.

New podcast series article update: http://piano-jazz.blogspot.com/2018/06/a-word-in-your-ear.html

This first video is less playing and *more talking* – unlike the other 9 videos in which I play much more – but is required viewing so that you may feel my style, get an idea of the philosophy and choose if you wish to continue; of course, I hope you will.

Understand the correct channel of energy: Mind – Body – Piano. It is certainly not the piano which plays the fingers which tell the mind what to think. Across my channel, discover philosophies such as the Internal Piano, Internal Jukebox, the Mind Triangle, your Musical Personality and the idea of becoming an observer to your hands. All these things are so very important to Your natural progress before you even sit at the piano. Thus, my channel focuses heavily on the mind and will provide much inspiration for you both at and way from the piano. Consider my blog a side-dish to the videos.
