I spent a great many years feeling confused by inversions. Because my piano beginnings were based on classical training, I had to play them a great deal. I am thankful for this now because I see the greater picture and realize that all those tedious inversion practices lead me toward being able to play music I loved!

In today’s lesson, I am going to share with you 10 easy hacks that will help you learn piano pieces faster. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced player, you will find these hacks helpful. Getting in micro practice sessions is a really helpful tip I can give you because not only will you get more practice time, your brain will better pick up the information in a shorter session. Obviously, you also want to become familiar with music theory. You should be able to identify and play scales, chords, and arpeggios. Learning to read intervals can also help since you can use them to read music much faster. If you are serious about learning how to play piano, you want to watch the whole lesson to learn all of the hacks.

In this video, our three focus points are: Broken Chords (taking the triad and playing the individual notes), Staccato and Legato articulations (S: playing one note after the other without blending it with the next/L: blending the notes together) and Rhythm in Practice (using the above to invent your own practice routines and free your fingers, discover your own style and develop keyboard awareness).

Note: What you must acknowledge is that 10 videos does not mean it takes 10 hours, or 10 days, even 10 weeks! It will take as long as it takes for you to consider that you have reached an acceptable level; this may involve going to take exams, making recordings of pieces or your own compositions and getting feedback, or visiting a real-life teacher for refinement. Please bare this in mind during the 10 video course.

About PGN Piano:
PGN Piano is THE Place To Learn How To Play The Piano! It offers you online piano lessons, wherever you are, whenever you want! With piano lessons added each week, you’ll never get bored, having to play the same type of songs over and over again, you can simply pick the songs you like and start to learn to play piano right away! On the YouTube Channel you’ll find lessons suited for everybody! There’s piano lessons for beginners, and though there are no specific piano lessons for kids, they can still use the lessons to learn how to play their favorite songs, like for instance this lesson: How To Play Hurt Christina Aguilera!

You shouldn’t consider the lessons to be piano for dummies, instead think of them as a way Hurt to teach yourself piano. This is the main reason Back To You I started PGN Piano. I found myself in a place where I wanted to learn piano online, and I simply couldn’t find any good lessons for specific songs. After learning some songs myself, I decided it was Back To You to spread my knowledge, and gave it a go. My first piano lesson ever has now reached nearly 1.000.000 views, and is still being watched many times each day.

I hope you’ll enjoy my free piano lessons, and if you do make sure to subscribe to the channel, so you receive an update in your feed whenever a new lesson is released! Furthermore, you can visit:
http://www.pgnpiano.com to see a full list of all lessons currently online, and leave requests for new lessons to come!

Keep Playing!

Understand the correct channel of energy: Mind – Body – Piano. It is certainly not the piano which plays the fingers which tell the mind what to think. Across my channel, discover philosophies such as the Internal Piano, Internal Jukebox, the Mind Triangle, your Musical Personality and the idea of becoming an observer to your hands. All these things are so very important to Your natural progress before you even sit at the piano. Thus, my channel focuses heavily on the mind and will provide much inspiration for you both at and way from the piano. Consider my blog a side-dish to the videos.
